Changes to sinkhole?

Starting early yesterday we began seeing a lot of activity from a subset of iPhones on our network getting mask.icloud.com caught by sinkhole.paloaltonetworks.comWe've been unable to find any commonalities between the devices. Wondering if anyone has been seeing anything similar or if this is a known issue?

Global Protect Blank Screen on Windows 11

Hello, I am having an issue where users go to lunch and the screen times out or the laptop goes to sleep, and they come back to a blank Global Protect (as seen below). The only way to fix this is to restart the laptop or go into task manager and end the global protect task and re-open the application. The issue is very intermittent and does not ...

Resolved! SCM Compatibility

Hello Everyone! I am looking for insight on the possibility of bringing PA-220s and PA-220Rs into SCM Pro for visibility and configuration. My research has led to conflicting results: Strata Cloud Manager Prerequisites indicates that the Advanced Routing Engine (ARE) is a requirement for onboarding a device into SCM. Advanced Routing sta...

Problem with Conditional Task Not Matching XQL Output in Cortex XSIAM Playbook

Hello everyone, I am building a simple playbook in Cortex XSIAM to check whether an endpoint is CONNECTED or DISCONNECTED using an XQL query on the endpoints dataset. The XQL query works correctly and returns the expected output: {"results": [{"endpoint_name": "ENDPOINT_089","endpoint_status": "DISCONNECTED"}],"status": "SUCCESS"} However, in ...

Palo Alto Mgmt IP sent huge traffics to the hawkeye services.

Hi Guys, I just want to ask. From my T1 firewall, i can see that my Palo Alto Mgmt IP is sending huge traffics to the hawkeye.services-edge.paloaltonetworks.com. You may refer to the attached picture. Is it normal our Palo Alto Mgmt Ip sent a large volume of traffics, which is around 20gb? What is the factor that influences the Mgmt IP to send...

When web proxy will support XFF header insertion and web cache ?

Hi all, Now with explicit and transparent forward proxy support I see a need for X-Forwarded-For/Real-Client-IP header insertion support and a second place cache support. Palo Alto can insert the user id in a header for the backend server (Username Header Insertion) but why not the ip address 🤔 Maybe before it was harder to extract layer ip add...

Question on "default" VLAN Interface

This may be a stupid question, but is there a purpose for the default vlan Interface (named just "vlan") that gets created on network templates? I have a couple of deployments that use vlan interfaces, but I noticed that the default vlan interface is the only one that has a mac address. Is this interface necessary?

Palo Alto User Agent ID Services Failing intermittently

We have 2 User ID agents on 2 different windows servers. Both User-ID agents' services are getting hung up and requiring manual intervention of services being stopped and started after couple of days. The issue has progressively been getting worse as well. This is causing group mapping to intermittently fail. We have upgraded the gateways to the...
