What can cause a Commit Failure?

Resolution


In most cases, this is caused by objects in the policy being referred to but haven't been committed yet.

To get around this:

  • Restore to the running configuration (details below)
  • Make the same changes but perform a commit regularely and after creating the new objects.

This will assure that the PAN firewall has the new objects already commited when pushing the new policy.

To revert to the running configuration:

  • Click on the Device tab
  • Click on Revert to running config
  • Click on Commit

You can view the differences between the running and candidate configurations by doing the following:

  • Click on the Device tab
  • Click on Config audit
  • Select a candidate config on the right
  • Click Go
