topic Cortex XDR 3.9 Release Notes - UEFI protection module in Cortex XDR Discussions

I noticed that Cortex XDR 3.9 includes something called a "UEFI protection module". Here is the description from the release notes:

"Cortex XDR has expanded its malware protection capabilities by adding the UEFI protection module, which reinforces and provides coverage against pre-boot attacks." Source

We've had some compatibility issues in the past with signing the Kernel Module on Linux Servers. It would be nice to replace Secure Boot with this feature.

Does anyone know if this feature is designed to supplement UEFI Secure Boot or replace it?

UEFI protection module compliments UEFI secure boot. It stops new threats targeting the UEFI image that attempt to compromise the host’s boot process, prior to the OS loading. The new UEFI Protection Module uses behavioral analysis to detect suspicious changes to the UEFI image, then blocks these attacks proactively or can notify an analyst when an image was tampered with. This module is vendor agnostic for any UEFI image. This module ensure that secure boot isn't bypassed and prevents attacks on UEFI modification.
