What you mean with "web applications"? Web servers with an http engine running on it like IIS or Apache?

Yes, Cortex XDR can help protect web applications, but it is not a complete solution for web app security.
For full protection, use it with a WAF, NGFW, or Prisma Cloud.

Protecting the Host (Server-Side Protection)
If your web application runs on a server (Linux or Windows), installing the Cortex XDR agent can:
Now Agent can Detect and prevent malware or exploits targeting the web server.
Block fileless attacks (e.g., PowerShell or script-based attacks).
Monitor for anomalous processes or suspicious network activity.

And XDR can detect attack patterns such as:
SQL Injection (SQLi), Cross-Site Scripting (XSS), Remote Code Execution (RCE) if they trigger malicious processes on the server.
Brute-force login attempts detected through endpoint behavioral analytics. Privilege escalation attempts on the web server

However

Cortex XDR does not function as a Web Application Firewall (WAF).
It cannot block HTTP-based attacks (like XSS, SQLi) at the application layer.
Best suited for server-side endpoint protection rather than direct web traffic filtering.
