content update issues on XDR 7.9CE

Hi everyone.

Have anyone had issues with 7.9CE version about the content updates? I mean, the agents are not downloading the CUs. I even tried to install the agent on a win 7 VM and it installs indeed but doesn't download content updates. It is weird because I can even access via live terminal and execute scripts via interactive mode. i tried to get TSF but the action never finishes, is the same if I tried to executed the file retrival action.

Hi MarcoMJ,

7.9 CE was end of life by March 25th 2025. Actually I believe that when trying to create an installation package in the tenant there should be a note there warning about it.

7.9.103 CE (Cortex XDR agent) end of life is going to be December 31, 2026**

We always recommend to be in the last release possible for every specific case. Please use maintained XDR Agent versions

If a version that is still maintained is not receiving CUs you can:

Check the agent settings profile (applied to those endpoints) to make sure that CUs are allowed there, check the delay etc.. in the configuration
Check that the agent has connection and you see it connected at XDR tenant console. Solve networking issues if applicable.
Please remember that even you isolate an agent from the XDR tenant console options, it will still have connection to the tenant for maintenance and upgrades.
