topic Authentication failed: empty password. Azure SAML. in Cloud NGFW for Azure Discussions

Issue:

Users leave computer on after work.

Users come back to reconnect.

User gets Authentication Failed message in default browser.

User notices that sometimes their username is not their SAML UnP (email) but their AD username.

it should be their SAML UnP(email)

This isn't happening to everyone but just a small subset of people

Restarting the client service makes it work again, and they connect successfully

We use Azure SAML.

The authentication profile uses "username" for attribute but doesn't seem to be a problem, but I'm thinking does this authentication profile need the attribute to be userPrincipalname?

Attached a screenshot of logs with the error message.

this is only happening to a small subset of users.
