topic Enterprise DLP with NGFW in Enterprise Data Loss Prevention Discussions

Are all of the Enterprise DLP functions performed in the DLP cloud service or are some of the functions performed on the NGFW?

From the E-DLP data sheet:
"Embedded in a next-generation firewall (NGFW) as a cloud-delivered service that inspects web
traffic over HTTP and HTTPS, Enterprise DLP automatically detects sensitive content in motion via
machine learning-based data classification, hundreds of data patterns, and business context—all
without disrupting business users."

The bold part makes it sound like a purely cloud based solution but just need to verify how it actually works.

Thanks!

The files in question is forwarded to cloud when it passes through the firewall. The scanning and analysis is done in the cloud, a verdict is then returned to firewall and it allows/denies/alerts the file to pass through based on the verdict.

Hope that answers your question.
