    <description>&lt;P&gt;Hello,&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;I'm not great with linux but am slowly getting there I think so apologies if parts of my question are a bit 'entry level'...&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;I have been asked to use GlobalProtect by my company but they haven't really got going yet so I'm kind of without support.&amp;nbsp; I am running&amp;nbsp;Ubuntu 18.04.4 LTS.&amp;nbsp; I have installed global protect by doing the following...&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;sudo dpkg -i ./GlobalProtect_deb-5.2.5.0-46.deb&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;sudo dpkg -i ./GlobalProtect_UI_deb-5.2.5.0-46.deb&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;This seems successful.&amp;nbsp; &amp;nbsp;The first time I installed the UI I got an 'open connection' window to enter the portal domain.&amp;nbsp; Everything worked and I thought I'd done it.&amp;nbsp; To prove a point I rebooted to do it again.&amp;nbsp; At this point I just cannot get the form to appear to kick off the process.&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;I have tried&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;1) sudu gtk-launch gp (return "Cannot parse command line")&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;2) reinstalling the UI to see if it opens the form again (a bit desperate I know!)&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;3)&amp;nbsp; sudo systemctl restart gpd.service (from a random internet search)&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;I've taken a look at&amp;nbsp; /usr/share/applications/gp.desktop and it looks like this&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P class="lia-indent-padding-left-30px"&gt;[Desktop Entry]&lt;BR /&gt;Name=GlobalProtect&lt;BR /&gt;Exec=/usr/bin/globalprotect defaultbrowser %u&lt;BR /&gt;Type=Application&lt;BR /&gt;NoDisplay=true&lt;BR /&gt;MimeType=x-scheme-handler/globalprotectcallback;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;I tried changing NoDisplay to false as a 'suck it and see' measure and it made no difference.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;I believe global protect is install properly as when I try to reinstall the UI I get this output&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P class="lia-indent-padding-left-30px"&gt;(Reading database ... 239086 files and directories currently installed.)&lt;BR /&gt;Preparing to unpack .../GlobalProtect_UI_deb-5.2.5.0-46.deb ...&lt;BR /&gt;gp service is running and we need to stop it...&lt;BR /&gt;sudo: /etc/sudoers.d is world writable&lt;BR /&gt;Disable service...&lt;BR /&gt;Start upgrading gp...&lt;BR /&gt;Unpacking globalprotect (5.2.5-46) over (5.2.5-46) ...&lt;BR /&gt;systemd is detected.&lt;BR /&gt;Setting up globalprotect (5.2.5-46) ...&lt;BR /&gt;Enable gp service...&lt;BR /&gt;Starting gp service...&lt;BR /&gt;Set default browser, errors other than gp.desktop can be ignored ...&lt;BR /&gt;enable ping&lt;BR /&gt;net.ipv4.ping_group_range = 0 0&lt;BR /&gt;Starting gpa...&lt;BR /&gt;start PanGPUI for sudo gringogordo&lt;BR /&gt;Processing triggers for man-db (2.8.3-2ubuntu0.1) ...&lt;BR /&gt;QStandardPaths: XDG_RUNTIME_DIR not set, defaulting to '/tmp/runtime-gringogordo'&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Has anyone got any ideas ?&amp;nbsp; I wondered if it is an issue with defaultbrowser ?&amp;nbsp; I'm not getting any errors I'm just not seeing the form.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;Okay sorry I found the answer by trying to use the cli.&amp;nbsp; I got an error message saying it was deprecated and to use&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;globalprotect launch-ui&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;kind of obvious but could use a bit of documentation ?!&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;</description>
