If you have also upgraded the FW maybe the default config has changed. Read this and check your config:

https://knowledgebase.paloaltonetworks.com/kcSArticleDetail?id=kA10g0000008U8e

https://knowledgebase.paloaltonetworks.com/KCSArticleDetail?id=kA10g000000boHMCAY

Also see:

https://knowledgebase.paloaltonetworks.com/KCSArticleDetail?id=kA10g000000ClokCAC

If not it could be a bug and maybe raise a case to the support but first you can check the globalprotect pangps, pangpa logs:

https://docs.paloaltonetworks.com/globalprotect/9-0/globalprotect-admin/certifications/troubleshoot-fips-cc-mode/view-and-collect-globalprotect-logs.html

Edit:

I also see that globalprotect 5.2.8 is really new and there is nothing about known or addressedissues that look like yours so if needed the next step will be to contact the TAC for possible new bug:

https://docs.paloaltonetworks.com/globalprotect/5-2/globalprotect-app-release-notes/gp-app-release-information/globalprotect-addressed-issues.html#id17B8E400LWR_id8c812b2c-7e97-49d5-a1ee-fd5db0bd529f

https://docs.paloaltonetworks.com/globalprotect/5-2/globalprotect-app-release-notes/gp-app-release-information/known-issues-related-to-gp-app.html

Hello Mr.

After changing from GlobalProtect 5.1.14 to 5.2.8 it's very noticed that added authentication user such as 'mydomain\myusername' just change it self to 'myusername' only just by itself which doesn't allow it to access the resources.

Why that? Any ideas?
