Version 6.1.0 is a very recent version.

It is still under observation.

I recommend you to validate using the recommended version 6.0.X or 5.2.X, validate if the same thing happens.

https://live.paloaltonetworks.com/t5/customer-resources/support-pan-os-software-release-guidance/ta-p/258304#:~:text=2022%2D0030.-,GlobalProtect,-General%20Notes%3A

When example if you take a test laptop, and you go from one building to another you lose connectivity with Internet ? example leaving a ping extended to 1.1.1.1.1 or 8.8.8.8.8 ?

Cheers

GP VPN disconnects when a user moves from one point A to point B within a building. I am guessing it's because users go from one access point to another but wanted to know what can be done on global protect side or even the cause of it on access points. GP is currently being managed via panorama. The users have to restart their computer to make it work which is frustrating.

@UmarKhan

Good afternoon.

By default GP has a KeepAlive time.

https://knowledgebase.paloaltonetworks.com/KCSArticleDetail?id=kA10g000000Cm5XCAS#:~:text=GlobalProtect%20client%20sends%20a%20keepalive%20every%2010%20seconds%20and%20if%20there%20is%20no%20response%20from%20the%20Gateway%20for%2050%20seconds%2C%20tunnel%20is%20torn%20down.

If in 50 seconds it fails to establish communication with the Gateway, it will lower the tunnel, this is expected behavior.

Perhaps the clients in this transition from one place to another, lose connectivity with GW of GP.

It should be enough to reconnect or restart the Global Protect service on the client, not the reboot.

Did you try installing a Global Protect client, version recommended by TAC.

That's the catch. Reconnecting doesn't work, only rebooting does, which is why this is a big problem. The client is using GP version 6.1.0-58
