topic GlobalPortect Pre-logon (Always On) with certificate authentication only in GlobalProtect Discussions

Hi There

Does anybody know, if it's possible to configure GlobalProtect to use a machine certificate for the pre-logon authentication and just a user certificate for the user authentication?

For me it looks like, that this won't work.

As soon as I am adding a authentication profile like LDAPS to the portal and gateway, the GP agent is able to authenticate with the machine certificate for pre-logon and then after login to Windows to the user logon works as well. If you sign out from Windows it switches back to pre-logon as expected.

But without the authentication profile (just using the certificate profile) the GP agent cannot connect to pre-logon, whereas the user logon works properly.

In the documentation is written that using pre-logon you have to enable SSO, what could be the reason why it's not working with certificate only as SSO depends on the Windows credential provider and this works depends on user credentials.

Any help would be great :-).
