Tunnel is down due to packet sending failure.

I have a user who is getting disconnected every 1 hour. checking the logs I see the the error message "Tunnel is down due to packet sending failure" is there any documentation as to why some one would get this error message.

Sept 2024 - any resolution to this issue? it is creating a massive issue for our patching team who works off hours and none of the devices shows ONLINE>

I had a similar case where a user’s GP VPN disconnected every 2 seconds. The logs indicated a “packet sending failure.” When the user used different connection, connected through a mobile hotspot, the VPN worked fine confirming the problem was with their router or ISP.

the issue went away on its own. but i do believe it was due to the underlying network.
