You are correct, I downloaded the ipad app. As per your suggestion, downloaded the PKG file from my GlobalProtect portal and installed the same. But now it is not opening, I restarted the mac but no use. App version 6.3.0-33

Hi @ksharma ,

Make sure you install the supported version.

The compatibility matrix shows which macOS versions support which versions of the GlobalProtect app. 6.0.11 and later or 6.2.6 and later are listed for MacOS 15:

https://docs.paloaltonetworks.com/compatibility-matrix/reference/globalprotect/where-can-i-install-the-globalprotect-app

Hope this helps,

I'm not aware of the GlobalProtect app actually being available on the macOS App Store directly; I think what you have downloaded is the iPad app and Palo-Alto maybe didn't hide it on the App Store like they should have. On macOS you would want to download the PKG file from your GlobalProtect portal, not the App Store itself.

I would remove what you have and login to the portal that you've been told to connect to and download GlobalProtect from there. That way you're getting the version that your GlobalProtect admins are pushing out and expect people to be running.

I am running GP 6.2.6-838 on MacOS Sequoia 15.1.1.

I saw a bug in GP that it would continuously re-download a 5.62Mb staging file for v6.2.6-838 until the hard drive is full and the machine crashes

Seems to run fine, other than the fact that it crashes the machine once the HD is completely out of space

Watch out for it in /Library/SystemExtensions/.staging

If you see lots of folders in there it may be GP gone wild.

On a positive note, when you reboot the machine it will clear that directory out. So it gives you a bit of time before your HD will fill.
