Just for context, we are planning to create approximately 1,000 HIP objects on our VM-300.

Also, is there a maximum limit on how many HIP objects can be included in a "single" HIP Profile? Does this limit also depend on the specific vm /hardware model?

Inquiry regarding the maximum number of HIP Objects (vs HIP Profiles)

Hi all,

I have a question regarding the system limits for GlobalProtect HIP configurations.

I am trying to find out the maximum number of HIP Objects configurable per device. I am currently using a VM-300, but I am also looking for information applicable to other hardware models (PA-Series).

I tried running the following command to check the system state:
show system state filter cfg.general.max | match hip

The output shows a value for
max-hip
, but it does not explicitly distinguish between Objects and Profiles. I suspect that the value displayed corresponds to the HIP Profile limit, not the HIP Object limit.

My questions are:

Is there a specific CLI command to clearly see the maximum number of allowed HIP Objects?

Does a hard limit for HIP Objects actually exist? Or is it only limited by the overall configuration size or memory?

Where can I find the official documentation or datasheets that specify the "HIP Object" limits? (Most datasheets only seem to list HIP Profiles).

Any insights or official references would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance!
