"Your login session has expired" errors when authenticating to GP portal

Dear community!

We are currently experiencing an issue where after authenticating to the globalprotect portal page with the browser, we get the following message :"“Your login session has expired and you have been logged out for security reasons...”

And we cannot get to the portal page.

It only works with Mozilla firefox or Edge in IE compatibility mode but it fails with Chrome and Edge. Verified is not a cookies problem.

Any idea why this is happening?

I would reproduce the issue while capturing the browser’s network activity through Developer Tools and reviewing the firewall’s GlobalProtect, authentication, and system logs.

In the logs, confirm whether the authentication request reaches the portal and whether the client is redirected to SAML as expected. Then, use the browser capture to trace the SAML redirect and identify where the session fails or expires.

This sounds like a browser compatibility or SAML session issue. Check the GlobalProtect and IdP logs for failed redirects or expired sessions, and verify recent Chrome/Edge updates. Since Firefox works, comparing the authentication flow between browsers should help identify the cause
