Hello Guys,

I am new on the Palo Alto Environment, i work a lot with Fortinet.

So in the Fortinet "world" i can register an account like a customer and require for try some of their products, like FortiEMS, FortiOS VM, FortiAnalyzer Etc, all of this for free, without any comercial relationship.

So what i want to know is that if there is something like that, or can i buy an old box for example a PA-220 and transfer to my account from another user, and after that license this box.

I maked it some similar in Fortinet, because i am a netowk security analist and a entusiast i buyed a Firewall fortinet with license and transfer it to my personal account.

So please sorry for any error, but i am trying to learn fastly the maximum i can about the Palo Alto plataform.

Hi Cleptonerd,

You. have different options you could buy a second hand firewall that still has an active license and support contract. If you buy a 220 it needs to have this active otherwise you will not be able to extend licenses.(pa-220 is going EOL)

You can also buy a lab unit with licenses this you can buy at reduced price but for a 440 unit for example you will pay around 1600 euro including licenses (still expensive)

You best/cheapest option is to request a trial:

https://www.paloaltonetworks.com/vm-series-trial

You can run the vm series firewall on eve-ng or esxi , for running labs I highly recommend EVE-NG.
