restoring an NGFW from factory default

Good day to Palo Alto LIVE Community,

What are the steps / procedures for "resurrecting" a dead Palo Alto firewall?

We have a previously-working Palo Alto firewall that eventually needed to be set to factory default settings. (since its console port was still working)

I'm guessing that, after factory default settings, I will need to try doing the following steps / procedures (although I'm not yet sure of, how exactly do do these):

1. reconfigure the base network / device settings (i.e. IP addresses, tunnels, etc.)

2. restore the licenses and certificates

3. upgrade its PAN-OS version

4. reconfigure the policies (security, NAT, etc.)

To reset the firewall to its factory default settings, please follow this procedure: https://knowledgebase.paloaltonetworks.com/KCSArticleDetail?id=kA10g000000CldXCAS.

Once the procedure is complete, you will need to configure the network settings to gain GUI access. After that, you can proceed with the other configurations.
