Open-Source External Syslog Server

Hi all,

So we just found out that PA-1410 only has a limited storage log capacity of 18GB. Thus, our traffic logs can only last a day, as the firewall already deletes the oldest logs due to limited log storage space. This poses a problem because we have to generate log reports on a monthly basis.

We are trying to configure a Log Forwarding in the Firewall instead for it to forward the logs in a Syslog. However, we do not have a syslog server currently.

I am asking if there are any open-source syslog servers that you may recommend for log monitoring, which also have the ability to generate reports similar to how the Palo Alto NGFW Firewall generates log reports.

You will use Graylog
