topic Intermittent IPSec Tunnel Monitoring Issue in Next-Generation Firewall Discussions

We experienced an issue this morning , where the IPSec Tunnel Monitoring status went down for a few minutes before coming back up again. However, after checking the peer firewall, there were no signs of the tunnel going down, no related logs or status changes were made on their side. This issue only affected a few IPSec sites, so it does not appear to be related to the ISP.

Hello,

I personally experienced a similar behavior on IPSec tunnel going to Mainland China. No explanation. It was from a PA-5200 (our site) to a PA-VM firewall (Customer site). The VPN never went down and traffic was flowing, but the monitoring issued an alarm and IPSec status on my side was red (IKE). After a few minutes, it came back green. No other error.

We moved the tunnel outside of Mainland China and had no issue since then. Maybe a clue (?).
