topic InPlace Upgrade Windowsserver with User ID Agent in Next-Generation Firewall Discussions

Hello,

we are planning to upgrade a windows 2016 server to windows server 2022.

On the server we have installed the User ID Agent for NGFWs.

Has someone experience with the upgrade? Is it possible to make a InPlace Upgrade or is it better to install the agent on a new server?

Thanks!

Hi @PatrickSchmidt ,

Great question! If you run the install file on a server with an existing User-ID agent, it will upgrade the agent and keep the configuration. I have done this before, and it works great. In-place is the preferred method for me. I always run as administrator. I think the doc says to do so.

Thanks,
