GlobalProtect 6.3.3-1016 Failed to Open File Mac M3 Pro (Apple Silicon) macOS Tahoe 26.5.1

There are issues connecting to my Employer's VPN using GlobalProtect 6.3.3-1016 application.

Where as an older version which we have (v5.2.10-6) is working fine.

Old version we have that works: 5.2.10-6

New version we are trying to upgrade to which doesn't work: 6.3.3-1016

Things we tried so far:

Upgrade from old version
Uninstall old then install new
Delete all folders of global protect and then install new
Clean Install
Permutations of restart + install + uninstall + upgrade
Providing full permissions to the folders used by the App

None of the above options has worked.

Please help.

I've seen similar scenarios.

The logs indicate that the portal authentication fails with the error auth-failed-invalid-http-arg.

This happens because the device hostname contains spaces or special characters (such as apostrophes), which the firewall rejects as invalid computer input during the authentication check.

For example (Kiwi's Macbook Air),(Jon’s MacBook Pro (2)), which contains spaces or special characters (such as apostrophes).

In this scenario, changing the macOS device hostname to a simple string without spaces or special characters (e.g., KiwisMac or JonMacPro) fixed the issue.

The Reddit post you shared also leaned towards a special character issue.

Initially I thought this was the Hostname everyone in the reddit post and you as well are talking about.
System Settings -> Sharing -> Hostname

And Yes, I have indeed checked that and update as well just in case.
Currently this is my local hostname: EmployerM3Pro14
But changing this didn't work.

BUT just now I saw that there is another result in the settings search.
Which is System Settings -> About -> Name
Which had "-" (dash) characters previously.

I didn't see it initially,
but now updated it by double clicking and removing dashes.
Restarted my device.
And now it works.

Thank you for the hint.
It was such a hassle to find this.

Application should be able to identify cases like this and at least notify users if this is an issue when installing or connecting to a network.
