Hello @Martin2K

I wanted to clarify the purpose of adding an FQDN to a security policy. The firewall uses the FQDN to resolve the domain to an IP address and then decides whether to allow or deny traffic based on the policy configuration.

Regarding DNS lookup, it focuses solely on the hostname or domain name section. This part of the URL, like 'www[.]example[.]com ', doesn't contain spaces and is structured without them.

Considering this, having a 'space' within your FQDN doesn't align with the usual format, and the firewall won't recognize it as a valid object.

For instance, if your FQDN looks like 'www[.]something[.]com/i have a space/?filter=ss', you should only include 'www[.]something[.]com' as the FQDN object in the firewall.

I hope this explanation clarifies things.

Hello,

I wanted to add a FQDN, which does include a space..

However, it seems that space is considered as invalid character in FQDN string.

Please advise.

Thanks,
