topic Using VM to migrate PA-5050 to PA-5410 in VM-Series in the Private Cloud

We are migrating from an outdated PA-5050 to PA-5410 and I was advised in LIVEcommunity to use a VM as a means to upgrade and install my exported configuration. However, I only have a registered VM-50 and not sure if it can support the upgrade. Will Palo Alto Networks Support allow me temporary access to a higher VM-version that will support the migration? Can someone please confirm that using a VM for the migration will actually work or if there's a better way? We never acquired a PA-5220, so migrating from PA-5050 to PA-5410 is quite an upgrade. Thanks!
