As part of our transition to a role-based certification framework, we have been phasing out our legacy certification exams. Currently, only three legacy exams remain active in our catalog: the PCNSE, PCCSE, and PCSAE.

The PCNSE certification exam is scheduled for retirement on July 31, 2025. Until then, achieving the PCNSE remains a prestigious goal and notable achievement. Even after the exam’s retirement, the certification will remain active for two years from the date of achievement.

Now to answer what is replacing the PCNSE, it is important to note that the legacy certifications focused heavily on product knowledge validation, whereas our new framework revolves around job-ready skills validation. Therefore, there is no direct equivalence between the old and new certifications.
