Hi,

My setup is like below.

e1/1 - To Internet

e1/2 - To MPLS WAN - Learns remote site routes via OSPF as type-2 external routes.

e1/3 - Internal network

Tunnel.x - One tunnel to each of the 9 remote sites.

My network works fine and learns remote routes via WAN and Tunnel. However the tunnel routes are taking preference because they are learned as Oi routes which are always preferred over O2 routes by the protocol design.

Is there any way to make tunnel routes less preferred over the WAN? OR only option I have here is to use a different routing protocol for tunnel that's less preferred than OSPF?

Thanks in advance,

Sam

You could modify the administrative distance of the different types of OSPF routes on the General tab within the Virtual Router.

Cheers,

Kelly

I ended up running RIP for the tunnels and OSPF for the WAN. Its working fine now. Thanks for the suggestion though.

I modified this setting and it seems to only take effect after reboot. Is there a way for it to work without reboot?
