Dear Team,

I understand that the same license set is required to configure HA according to the content below.
- The same model
- The same PAN-OS version
- The same type of interfaces
- The same set of licenses

Customers want to configure HA while introducing new equipment.

However, the existing equipment is using the URL4 license, and the equipment to be introduced will use the advanced URL.

We want to know whether HA is normally configured and failover occurs even if the license sets of the two devices are different.

Does any engineer have experience with the above configuration?

Please give me some advice.

Thanks in advance,
Kyungjun,

@CHOE-KyungJun,

While this isn't supported, the HA configuration does form and the configuration sync and failover does function. It wouldn't be something that I would be planning to do however. Work with your sales team to get the new hardware with HA licenses for both units so you are dealing with a single set of subscriptions with the same expiration date. Not having that gets messy come renewals.
