      <description>&lt;HTML&gt;&lt;HEAD&gt;&lt;/HEAD&gt;&lt;BODY&gt;&lt;P&gt;Hi all.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;I config my network using Lage Scale VPN Guide.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;When i config satellite with gateway's IP, it ok&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;But when i use gateway domain, satellite can't connect to gateway&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;This is erros log from satellite.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;EM&gt;and ( description contains 'GlobalProtect Satellite connection to gateway failed.&amp;nbsp; Satellite failed to connect to Gateway XX.XX.XX.XX&amp;nbsp; due to "certificate common name does not match the configured hostname on the satellite". subject=/C=xx/O=xx/CN= "domain name" ; issuer&lt;/EM&gt;&lt;EM&gt;=/C=xx/O=xx/CN= "domain name"&lt;/EM&gt;&lt;EM&gt;; not before=....."&lt;/EM&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;EM&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;/EM&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;EM&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;/EM&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;EM&gt;Pls help me&lt;/EM&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;EM&gt;Thanks a lot&lt;/EM&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;/BODY&gt;&lt;/HTML&gt;</description>

The connection was successful when you used ip address because the CN (common name) field in the gateway certificate contained the gateway ip address which matched. But when you use the gateway domain instead of ip address, it fails because the domain name does not match the ip address in the CN field of the certificate.
