Something to be mindful of is that disk-image and machine-image backups are not supported by PAN. It's recommend that you simply take a backup of the configuration and deploy a new firewall using the configuration to restore functionality. In the past restores have always been an issue and you end up rebuilding it anyways.

Will take a backup from the VM (NVA) for the Paloalto firewall that exists in the Azure environment,

The query, is whether taking a backup will *affect/not affect* the services or interrupt the network traffic managed by the Paloalto NVA during and after the backup of the NVA?

Hi @Mohammed_Yasin ,

Navigating to Device -> Setup -> Operations and saving/exporting a named configuration snapshot will not affect the services or interrupt the network traffic managed by the Palo Alto.

I would only import a new named configuration during a change window on an existing Palo Alto.

Hope this helps.
