Video and speed are slow when using MS-teams

Hello.

Currently using ms-teams.

In use, if many users participate in a meeting, the picture quality and speed deteriorate.

Because the paloalto firewall is also in the middle of the network environment, the operation of the firewall is also suspicious.

No packets appear to be blocked.

Could you please let me know if you are experiencing the same symptoms as me or if there is something you should focus on in your firewall?

We have been seeing a similar problem, spike in PA dataplane CPU when lots of people join a Teams meeting and then the Teams client having picture quality or freezes. Often it will happen to a couple people in the meeting, but not everyone. From what we have been able to tell, it appears that it is a Teams client issue, that the client sees an increase in latency/jitter or loss of packets and then dramatically downgrades its video bandwidth. Audio in the meeting (as well as other apps/VoIP running on the endpoint) are fine.

We saw possibly a little improvement on this moving from 8.1 to 9.1, but hard to say. We also started split-tunneling the main Teams traffic on all our GP clients, which seems to have helped. But I haven't found an explicit cause/fix yet.

The thing to remember about Teams, or any video conferencing application, is that the more people join a meeting the more traffic you have flowing through with all of the video feeds. I would monitor the network utilization to see if you aren't running into any issues supporting it with your hardware, but more importantly that you aren't running into any bandwidth constraints on the WAN or LAN side of things. I think people forget just how much data conferencing uses at times.

Whats the best way to monitor bandwidth constraints on the palo alto ?
