I don't believe that these actually map when you compare any of the 5000 series with the 5200 series. The 5000 series you only really got Jaguar (CTD), Tiger (Hardware Acceleration) and Dune (switch fabric); the 5200 series gives you far more thermal points across the board.

Thermal Temperature Sensors PA5050 - 5250 - show system environmentals

Hello, good afternoon

I hope you are all well.

I have a question regarding the command output: show system environmentals

In the ----Thermal---- section the following appears:

PA-5050:
----Thermal----
Slot Description Alarm Degrees C Min C Max C
S1 Temperature @ 10G Phys [U171] False 36.50 5.00 60.00
S1 Temperature @ Jaguar [U172] False 51.00 5.00 60.00
S1 Temperature @ Tiger [U173] False 46.00 5.00 60.00
S1 Temperature @ Dune [U174] False 37.00 5.00 60.00

PA-5250

----Thermal----
Slot Description Alarm Degrees C Min C Max C

S0 Temperature: Broadwell MP Core False 29.80 -5.00 85.00
S1 NP False 39.10 -5.00 70.00
S1 CP False 35.60 -5.00 85.00
S1 DP0/CE False 44.50 -5.00 75.00
S1 DP0 Core False 72.80 -5.00 85.00
S1 Top Front False 31.50 -5.00 70.00
S1 Switch False 30.50 -5.00 70.00
S1 CP Core False 48.00 -5.00 85.00
S1 Switch Core False 47.00 -5.00 85.00
S1 NP Core False 34.00 -5.00 70.00
S1 Bottom Front Front False 26.50 -5.00 70.00
S1 DP1/DP2 False 30.50 -5.00 70.00
S1 Bottom Rear False 33.50 -5.00 85.00

Now on both the 5050 and 5250 the values are different. I understand that this corresponds to the temperature sensors that exist in the processors. Can you give me the detail of the following, to which they correspond.

PA-5050: 10G Phys, Jaguar, Tiger, Dune
PA-5250: DP0/CE, DP0 Core, CP Core, NP Core, DP1/DP2.

Thank you very much for your collaboration and for your time.

Best regards

Hi @BPry , thanks for your prompt reply.

No, I am not talking about comparative, as the hardware architecture of 50XX and 52XX are different. As we have both models in operation with a customer, the point of the post is to confirm what each of the details mean.

I understand that the 5250/52XX if you have additional temperature sensors to the one that a 5050 has, but the point and detail I am asking about is the following:

Can you give me the detail of the following, to which they correspond.

PA-5050: 10G Phys, Jaguar, Tiger, Dune
PA-5250: DP0/CE, DP0 Core, CP Core, NP Core, DP1/DP2.

For completeness I understand that the "10G Phys" corresponds dedicated chip to the SFP+. Please confirm, thank you

Thank you for your time and for your collaboration

Cheers
