hi,

my company has an extra pair of 820 firewalls. for practice i was thinking of setting up active-standby ha on them in lab environment. even though its a lab, my company doesnt have too many extra workstations or laptops lying around. so would a loopback interface in panos 10.x be a sufficient stand to act as a end device?

Loopback would only act as another interface on the Palo Alto and would not act as an end device.

I don't know if the lab environment is at your office or home, but if at home then you would be able practice many scenario's with just two interfaces - inside & outside interface and you would only need 1 device for this.
