Right now Traps are advertised as complement to signature-based antivirus. But with time I'm sure they will replace classical antivirus protection.

Yes, Traps can block in real time. But to block exes in real time you have to set policy to block unknown executables.

Hi All,

Looking at the Traps solution and wanted to know if the solution allows for a replacement of Antivirus or does it supplement one? I don't really want tot have to support multiple services and agents on all the devices so i was hoping for the former?

Hello

Traps cannot replace antivirus. You need both.

Traps blocks zero days exploit (like an IPS but without signature update).

With the help of Wildfire, it can detect if the user tries to run an unknown malware (like a exe).

I don't known if it can block it in real time...

Regards,

HA
