Wow!

Maybe it is a typo somewhere. The "Check Now" button usually fixes it for me. I can download it fine. Maybe PANW fixed it.

BTW, the preferred version is 11.1.4-h7. I would install that one.

Thanks,

"Empty file returned by update server" on Palo Alto firewall download usually means a connectivity problem. Check internet access, DNS, firewall rules (if applicable), proxy settings (if used), and update server settings. Ensure your licenses are valid, and try clearing browser cache or a different browser. Verify PAN-OS compatibility and sufficient disk space. If using a virtual firewall, check VM resources. Contact Palo Alto support if the issue persists.

Hi @y.liu608509 ,

Quickest workaround would be downloading the PAN-OS package from the support portal to manually upload and upgrade the firewall.

If that's not an option then further debugging is required.
Are you downloading via the mgmt interface or via a service route ?

Are the proper rules in place to allow the download ?

Could there be an upstream device blocking traffic ?

Get a PCAP to get more information.

Kind regards,

-Kim.
