topic powered down V-wire port in General Topics

Good evening,

I'm working on a split site redundant network, where my PA-1410 is unable to pass traffic. from what I can tell the v-wire is hard wired to the designated ports (P9 -> P19), but P19 is listed as powered down, no SFP detection. It seems to be electrically disabled at the hardware/ASIC level. Is this possible to rectify, or will an RMA be in order? this is a 12 port data plane, and my links are over single mode fiber, so that only leaves a few ports, which seem to be hard-wired for HA, leaving only my one downed port available for v-wire. oddly enough, on the other side of the fail-over, the firewall has the port enabled and operational. its the same model and verison, however somehow it has miss matched data planes out of the box.

Thanks,

First, please verify whether the port is down, as described in the KB below.

Then, if you have physical access to the device, check whether there is any light (typically red) coming from the connected SFP. If there is no light, try replacing it with another SFP that you are certain is supported and working properly.

If there is still no light on the port and the interface continues to appear as power down, it is highly likely that an RMA will be required. I had to RMA a PA-5410 unit for the same reason last week.
