PBF policies get matched when the firewall does the forwarding look-up based on the five tuple information gathered on receipt of a packet. Hence only applications that can easily be identified based on layer 4 information that are not dynamic in nature can be effectively used in a PBF rule.

Hello,

i want to make a policy for "Policy Based Forwarding" to route only ping traffic to a different router. Is this possible?

I testet a rule with a service "tcp/udp Port 0" -> Don't work

I tested another rule with an application "icmp" -> Don't work

For testing suppose i create anoher rule with service "any" and application "any": This rule matches and the traffic was routed over the different router.

But this is not a possible conclusion for my problem, because i only want pings to go to the other router.

Best Regards,

Arne
