Dear All,

We have more and more requests and complaints from prospective clients requesting dual power supplies on the PA 2xxx and upcoming 3xxx series. This is one of the first questions we get from many prospective clients, and the negative answer in this regard always starts off negotiations on the wrong foot. Most customers view the PAs as being inferior due to the single power supply.

We understand that the PA 500 wouldnt have a redundant power supply, however is there any particular reason why the 2000 and 3000 series do not have a dual power supply?

Many Thanks,

Regards

Compunet Team

I cant answer your particular question but if you are worried about PSU issues then you should get two boxes and make sure they utilize different PDU.

Another option is to get an ATS (Automatic Transfer Switch) which will also be healthy for any other equipment such as ethernet-switches which normally only have one PSU:

http://www.eaton.com/Eaton/ProductsServices/Electrical/ProductsandServices/ElectricalDistribution/ATS/index.htm

Rack-mount Transfer Switches - Product Information
