I guess this is a YMMV dependent upon the model, but we have a PA-500 running 3.0.6.

What do Palo Alto recommend I be running as the stable version please? 3.0.8 or 3.1?

Also if I do an upgrade is there a ballpark on the actual downtime (not the total upgrade time)?

Thanks in advance.

Unless you need new features introduced in 3.1.0, you'll probably want to stick with the 3.0.x release series and go to 3.0.8. Downtime is during the reboot and that can take from 6 to 15 minutes depending on how much content needs to be compiled.
