Filtering URL's containing soft hyphen (or other special characters)

How would I create a category that would allow me to filter any URL containing the soft hyphen character (or another specific single non-printable character)?

I have tried "* & shy ; *" (less the spaces) and "* & #173 ; *". No luck.

As I understand that this is not currently possible, I would like to open a feature request for this capability. Preferably to be able to use regular expressions to specify url's to filter with support for extended characters.
