Is it possible or a way to filter YouTube on a mobile device using the app vs the web

There are 4 apps for youtube

Youtube-base

youtube-posting

youtube-safety-mode

youtube-uploading

You can create policies to deny youtube by selecting app.

You should submit a request that Palo Alto create an App ID for the mobile App using the instructions on this note.

And if you are ambitious you can try to create a custom app id following this process.

The PA appid signature for youtube should identify youtube mobile app.

Do ensure to have ssl decryption enabled for this to work.

It should work well for both for iOS and android based youtube moblie app.
