topic Panorama config push error message. in General Topics

I have a Panorama and a PA-500 both running 5.0.6. I was getting an error message when I tried to push a config. The issue was that I had an address object (it’s the same for security rules and various other things) on my box and on the Panorama with the same name. The only way I was able to get around this error was to remove the entry from my PA-500 and then push the config.

My question is: Is there a way to simply overwrite the entry on my PA-500 without having to manually delete it? What if I had to push this config to 50 boxes, each one already having that object? Would I have to delete them all manually before pushing the config?

Thanks in advance.

Good Afternoon,

Yes, we have to delete them manually, because we cannot have objects with duplicate names that are part of the Schema and on the managed devices' dataplane. This is not a limitation, but a pre requisite when ever you push objects from the Panorama to the managed device.

BR,

Karthik
