We have an active Brightcloud URL filtering license. We would like to start using PAN-DB. Our sales tells me this is only possible at time of license renewal (that would be another 9 months for us).

I find this hard to believe. Is there no way the Brightcloud URL filtering license can be converted into a PAN-DB license ?

Maybe as a sales effort on your reseller's side

However as both DBs and services are different (and provided by two different enterprises), a simpe "conversion" is not possible.

It should be just a matter of changing the license (which is already paid). Or is it directly correlated to a license PAN pays to Brightcloud ?

We upgraded some of our end users to PAN-DB from Brightcloud. You need to request an upgrade from URL2 to URL4 I think. Technically it should zero out on the invoice since the transaction is done pro rata. It can be done at any point, as long as the Brightcloud license is valid of course
