Cannot set any network interface advanced setting at a VM-series (VM300):

the fields are gray out... why?

Hello Sir,

This is an expected behavior from a VM series firewall. Link speed and duplex are not relevant for a virtual interface and do not need to be checked. That's why those 2 options ( Link-Speed, Link-Duplex) are gray out.

You can't set Link Speed or Duplex on your ESX vSwitch.

This is why you can't/need to configure Speed or duplex in your PAN-VM
