If I setup a policy using a URL filtering profile that uses override for at least one or more categories, once the user enters the override code, what are the exact rules that then apply?

For example if I set "shareware and freeware" to "override" and someone goes to www.cnet.com and enters the code, at what point does that override expire?

Whilst they are in "override", is it for the website, or the category i.e. if they then went to another site that's in "shareware and freeware" would they be able to access it?

Is there a document with a more detailed breakdown?

You can refer to these two threads for timers:

https://live.paloaltonetworks.com/docs/DOC-1152

https://live.paloaltonetworks.com/docs/DOC-1117

The timers are for a category and not a specific URL within a category.

Hope this helps

James

Also referring to the behavior portion of your question it is good to note that the override and continue functions are per category...not per
page. Thus if you used the override function for a specific website and then you went to
another website that was categorized the same as the one you were just at, you would still
be able to access that site as long as you were within the default 15 minute time limit.
