Why would you want to block firefox and google chrome updates? I understand wanting to block the google chrome apps, which afaik can't be done, but the browsers? Isn't that exposing yourself to additional vulnerabilities?

Hi Community,

Is there a way to block Google Chrome update? There aren't any app, signature in the App-List.

I've previously configured to block Firefox Update as the App signature in PA, and it was working fine.

Did any of you had this need, or created custom app to disable Google Chrome Update?

Kind Regards.

Replying my own question, just in case anyone with the same will would see it.

I read in Google's whitepaper, saying "Google Chrome and the Google Chrome Apps Launcher use Google Update to keep you up to date with the latest and most secure versions of software. In order to provide greater transparency and to make the technology available to other applications, the Google Update technology is open source."

So, I searched google-update in PA's App list, and there was it.

Disabling google-update did the trick.

Yours sincerely,

Mendsaikhan Amarjargal
