Is it normal for a PA-500 to have memory utilization in the 95 percentile?

Just recently unboxed a unit and after all the applicable updates, available memory seems to be around 15 - 20 megs (out of 1000).

Hello,

memory utiliazation may be high post upgrading to 3.1.x from 3.0.x. The pan device is actually busy converting log files into the correct format for 3.1.x. This should not last forever though. If this lasts more than two days, please call into support.

thanks,

Stephen

I know this will vary but what would you typically expect the Free Memory to read in the web GUI?

Our PA500 has always hovered with, generally, a few (between 7 and 8 to 20 or so) mb free.

This is about right. We have several corporate paloalto devices and right now one is at 8mb free and the other is at 21mb free.

So this is normal.

thanks,

Stephen
