topic Convert Template to Template Stack in General Topics

We use Panorama to manage our firewalls and have a template configured with settings for all of our devices. I would like to split the devices by region for administrative access and would like to retain the current settings in the template. I can create a new stack, but would lose the settings in the current template so wondered if it's possible to import the settings from the current template to the new stack?

Hi,

You can clone your current template and put the clone in a new stack. You can then add more specific templates to your stack.

Hi Baudy,

thansk for your reply. I guess that means I cannot retain a top-level policy which applies settings to all templates below? Instead, cloning the original template would mean any changes would need to be made to each template in the stack unlike Device Groups.

Hi,

My suggestion of creating a template was in case you want to go back to your old settings. You can of course use the same base template in all of your stacks. I currently have 4 stacks, and they all have the same base template on which I add specific templates. A stack is just a set of templates and the order in which they are listed specifies which templates override the others.
