Hi,

Possible reason might be In the Device Manager under Network Adapters there are many instances of "Unknown device" listed.

Unknown Network Adapters

The multiple "Unknown device" entries occupy the network adapters, and the system does not allow a new driver to be installed.

Overtime, the NDIS drivers have not been correctly removed from the NetLUID array. This eventually causes the NetLUID array to become exhausted, preventing you to install a new driver.

External source : An affected system may also be unable to use a VPN client or install any software that uses NDIS drivers because no additional NetLUIDs can be enumerated.

Hope this helps,

Cheers !
