Running 7.0.6 on both panorama and firewall. Any reason why one device would all of a sudden lose its host name?

is the hostname still present on the device but not on panorama? or did it dissapear off of the device also ?

for the former, there could be an issue with the link between firewall and panorama, management server may have an issue and require restart

for the latter.... i'd check the configuration logs on the device. just like everything else, the hostname i a configuration parameter which can't simply change without reason. (also verify candidate vs running, possibly it was deleted from one but not pushed to the other.. )

Maybe you are affected by this bug:

PAN-58582 Fixed an issue where a firewall’s hostname obtained from a Panorama template reverted to its default value. This issue occurred after the management server process on the firewall (mgmtsrvr) restarted following an event such as a PAN-OS update or firewall restart.
