There is an advisory released by Intel (and probably Cisco) about the Intel Atom c2000 platform and a clock signal component failure that can brick devices using that platform. The Atom c2000 was marketed towards (among other uses) networking equipment.

Does anyone know if Palo Alto used the Intel Atom c2000 platform in any of our devices?

Thanks

Search for errata AVR54 if interested https://www-ssl.intel.com/content/dam/www/public/us/en/documents/specification-updates/atom-c2000-family-spec-update.pdf

Cisco's has not confirmed that there notice is in regards to the c2000 but it sounds like the same issue: https://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/support/web/clock-signal.html#~faqs,

I don't believe that Palo Alto publishes the processor used in their products; that being said Palo Alto is not indicated as one of the vendors utilizing the C2000 series chips in any of the existing product line.

This data may be out of date but it used to be that data plane was ran by a Cavium processor and the management processor only utilized an intel processor once you get to the 3000 series, with the lesser 200, 500, and 2000 series keeping a Cavium processor as the management processor as well.

No, none of the Palo Alto Networks firewalls use Intel C2000s.
