Hi,

Trying to setup a IPv6 Point to Point link between the PAN and SRX. Does PAN support IPv6 prefix like /127 for point to point connection?

(Yes I read RFC 3627 -> RFC 6164 -> RFC 6547 already)

Before any one starts about the IPv6 address space is so big, My idea is I can use the first /64 to indicate that is used for point to point and the rest of the /126 for the link in between devices. It is easier to look at it.

I am not sure that I understand the question so forgive me if this is off base.

On the PA the link level you can assign the static ipv6 address and mask of your choosing for the links. There is no built in restrictions on this that I have run into.

For allocations and routing, the general recommendation is to use /48 or /64 depending on the size of the site.

And to use /128 for the routed links with only two hosts connected.

http://meetings.ripe.net/ripe-49/presentations/ripe49-ipv6-guidelines.pdf
